Adetola Alonge

Adetola is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida. She majors in Public Health and has minors in Sociology and Health Disparities in Society. She plans to go to medical school to pursue an MD along with an MPH in the future.

Adetola has been at the McKnight Brain Institute since her 1st year at the University of Florida. Her research interests include neurodegenerative diseases with a focus on Parkinson's Disease and cellular signaling. Her research in the lab focuses on the impact that alpha-synuclein has on dopamine neuron morphology.

Outside of the lab, Adetola is involved in Student Government as the Director of the Multicultural Affairs Cabinet. She also serves as a Learning Assistant for BSC2010 (Integrated Principles of Biology I), Student Ambassador for the Center of Undergraduate Research, and a previous participant of the Leadership Development Institute within the Black Student Union.
